Daddy called to say he had a substance abuse problem, I went to see him in a hospital
Playing checkers in a robe of white and sipping on phenobarbital
Aint it funny how the apple falls so far from the tree.
Later on in a session of therapy he said something that I could not believe
“I’m gonna change soon as I get out of here, I’m gonna be the man you need me to be.”
Words are easy to ignore when you’ve heard them all before.
