The Affordable Health Care Act, also known as “Obama Care” has had a significant impact on drug and alcohol treatment and its accessibility by the average person.

This new law requires that all new insurance plans cover substance abuse treatment.  This means that anyone who is buying or has bought health insurance since the signing of the Affordable Health Care Act will have coverage of some sort for addiction treatment.
